Getting to Cofradía de Chocolón takes about two hours along dirt roads from Tepic, the capital of Mexico’s Nayarit state. The journey leads to a small community surrounded by forests, established coffee plantations, and sweeping views toward the Pacific Ocean.
This lot undergoes anaerobic natural processing, bringing a distinctive flavor characteristics to the coffee and offering a different expression of this lesser-known Mexican growing region.
The lot also honors the Wixárika people. Their intricate yarn paintings and beadwork express cultural traditions, stories, and visions passed between generations.
